Peanut Butter Cup Overnight Oats
Ingredients Needed
old oats - rolled oats are best for oats at night. Fast / quick oats and steel cut oats do not work the same way because they are not as harmful to liquids as they are to oatmeal.
chocolate protein powder - this is what gives night oats its chocolate flavor. I use plant-based chocolate powder powder with stevia sugar. If your protein powder does not taste good, you will probably want to add a sweet drink, such as maple syrup.

almond milk - I like to use unsweetened almond milk with vanilla, but any type of milk will work.
vanilla extract - just a touch!
sea salt - a pinch of sea salt is a perfect flavor enhancer and exudes the nutty taste of oats.
chocolate chips - I like to use Lily's dark chocolate chips because they are low in sugar and low in carbs. I also made this recipe with Lily a cup of peanut butter chopped instead of chocolate chips. If it definitely takes a cup of pb overnight the oats go to a whole new level!
Peanut Butter - I highly recommend using peanut butter in this recipe as a cup of peanut butter is inspired, but if you want to replace it with a different peanut butter, go ahead.
How Long Does a Night Oats Need to Be Soaked?
Given the name, you may think that oats at night need to be soaked at night, but you can make them in 2-4 hours when you run. Although it takes time for oats to absorb the liquid, it does not need to be soaked overnight.
I recommend at least 8 hours with real night oats, but it was in the morning that I decided I wanted oats at night to eat breakfast even though I hadn’t prepared them the day before. If this happens, I will make them in the morning and let the oats soak for only 2-4 hours. With this quick immersion, they are not as soft as the late-night oats and have more liquid, but they are still delicious.
Can You Eat Hot Oats For The Night?
Short answer, yes! You can warm the oats overnight, but the whole point of oats at night is to eat them as cold as muesli. Even if you think cold oats sounds weird, I recommend you shoot it before you write it. Of course, as long as you can make cold oats you can always burn them. Just put the oat overnights in your microwave, cook in 30 increments until the oats are warm and enjoy.
How Long Is Oats Overnight?
If stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator at night the oats should be stored for up to 5 days. They will be much softer if they stay longer so I find that they are much better in 1-3 days, but they are still safe to eat in 4 and 5 days. With that being said, night oats are good for food preparation. Feel free to make a whole week-long collection on Sunday. I like to put them in a wide mouth 16 oz sin pots.

Ingredients
- 1/2 cup grated oats
- 1 teaspoon chocolate powder powder *
- ⅔ - ¾ a cup of unsalted almond milk of vanilla, or other milk
- Is teaspoon vanilla extract
- a pinch of salt in the sea
- 1 teaspoon chocolate chips, using Lily's dark chocolate *
- 1-2 tablespoons peanut butter, separated
Instructions
Combine ingredients: Add oats, protein powder, milk, vanilla, sea salt and ½ teaspoon of peanut butter to a bowl or pot. Stir or stir well to combine, until all the protein powder has dissolved and the peanut butter has dissolved.

Refrigerator: Cover the container with a lid and refrigerate overnight.
Remove from refrigerator: In the morning, remove the bowl or pot from the fridge and stir / stir the mixture. You will notice that oats concentrate a lot of fluids, so you may want to add a little milk before serving.
Serve: Top oats with chocolate chips and peanut butter left over for serving.
Store: Oats overnight can be stored for up to 5 days in the refrigerator in a sealed airtight container.
